I added AirPlay 2 to my HiFi speakers with a cheap Apple router from 2012!

I'm not sure why they did that, but we're going to take advantage of it now, just 10 years into the future. Adding the AirPort Express Base Station A1392 model to your network is super easy, and allows you to use AirPlay 2 with anything plugged into its headphone port. It's pretty dang good at driving a line level sound source as well, meaning pretty much any amp should be able to handle it. I have it running a 3.5mm headphone to RCA cable into the red and white jacks on the back of my NAD amplifier marked "CD" as in "CD quality audio" (thanks AirPlay 2!). The NAD amplifier is hooked up to my floor standing Yamaha speakers, which just sound incredible. I got them for $50 on Craigslist a few years ago and they sound better than any modern soundbar I've heard lately. They are my go to speakers for music enjoyment in my house, so it's high time I added the convenience of AirPlay 2, and for less than $50? Sheesh, just go for it.
